It goes without saying that people are the first priority of a well-designed system. The goal is to produce a system that offers the most secure environment for the customer without inconveniencing one’s lifestyle and the freedom to enjoy one’s home.

Here’s a quick checklist for you to evaluate your home security - this along with one of our security systems will give you the comfort, security and freedom to enjoy your home.
Home Security - Is Your Home Secure?
- Lock all exterior doors every time you leave your home even when leaving for a moment or two and instruct every member of the family to follow this rule?
- Use quality dead bolt locks and make sure they are correctly fitted to all exterior doors. Also make sure these locks comply with fire regulations are secure .
- If any of your exterior doors have glass panels or sidelights make sure the glass is reinforced.
- Make sure all the windows have locks and keep the windows locked - on all levels.
- Do not hide spare keys anywhere outside your home.
- Make sure all members of the family know how to operate your alarm system. Make sure your system is serviced regularly and keep your system turned on.
- Make sure you have a family security plan in place and make sure everyone knows what to do in case of a home invasion.
- If you have a sliding glass door make sure it cannot be lifted out of its tracks.
- Make sure the lighting outside your home is sufficient so there are no dark places in which a burglar can hide.
- Make sure all bushes and shrubs around your home are trimmed to give a clear view of any intruder. Plant thorny bushes near and under windows to deter intruders.
- Make sure your home has a lighted house number that can be read from a distance.
- Make sure everyone in your home positively identifies callers at your door, use a door viewer or other means and do not open the door unless you know and trust the person at the door.
- Always lock your garage whether you are at home or not and whether your vehicle is in your garage or not?
- Make sure your garage door in good condition capable of withstanding attack and fitted with a good quality lock.
- If you use an automatic garage door opener does it employ rolling code technology ( a new code is generated with each use).
- If you have a door leading directly from inside your garage into your home make sure it is an exterior quality door fitted with a secure lock. This door should always kept locked.
When you are leaving your home vacant even just for a day or two . . .
- Ask a trusted neighbor to keep a watch on your home.
- Cancel newspaper and other deliveries and put your mail on hold.
- Mow your lawn and if gone for an extended period make sure you have the lawn maintained during your absence to avoid the appearance of a vacant house.
- Set timers to turn lights and your TV and radio on at appropriate times and if possible set the timer to come on at different times.
